I have no answers for you, but i looked into it a while back.
I too preferred a factory ford setup.
Got no real answers here (that's understandable).
I found no reason it couldn't be done, but it's going to take the complete wiring diagrams for the car it comes out of.
Even considered putting a 93 cd player setup in, just seems to cost too much money.
I landed up buying an old school eclipse HU i got on ebay for $50 instead.
I have the Mach 460 swaped in my 93. It wasn't hard. I used the rear amp rack and speakers, they fit in my coupe ok, i just had to modify the trunk lid supports to fit the box, shorten the strut rods so they didnt hit, and cut out the deck surface for the speakers. For the wiring i used everything from a 2001 GT vert. The speaker wires to the factory speakers in my 93 were the same color as the 2001 radio harness. you will have to run new wires to the front for the bass/mid bass drivers in the doors. you can use the factory wires for the tweeters as they are run from Head unit power. You will also need a Mach 460 head unit to power the system.... I will get pics if you need them... my car isnt 100% complete so now would be the time....
