So Ive already replaced all the speakers, sounds good still unfortuneatly i have a headunit i also want to put in there, on the back theres the 16 pin connecter, the antenna and two others. Are both of the two for the subs? 1 for each door? I already ordered a 5 volt regulator, a 16 pin harness, but the special connecter for the subs isn't here yet and im not sure if i need 2 or if only one of these other plugs on the back is for subs? Any answers would be great.
and just by chance if i need two of the connectors, the headunit only has one pair of rca recievers labeled subwoofers, how could i make that work?

I know this has nothing to do with your question. But I have a shaker 500 to, I have a question for you. The speakers in the door which ones did you use? Did you have to modify your doors, or any fitment issues?

i used some kickers 6x8, any 6x8 should fit, mine did have extra mounting taps at the sides of the oval shape that i had to clip off but you can do that very easily with pliers wire cutters or really just about anything. I also cut the harnesses from the stock speakers and spliced mine in, apperntly they have clips you can buy that clip over the stock connector and then splice into the speaker wires, don't waste your money just make sure you cut it far enough that you can splice the connecters back in if you want to put the stock speakers back at any point

Crutchfield.com carries a interface cable for the Shaker 500 system to tie an aftermarket head unit to the car wiring.

PAC Ford Radio Replacement Interface Allows aftermarket radio installation in select 2005-up Ford-built vehicles (model C2R-FRD1) at Crutchfield.com

I have been looking to replace my Shaker head unit as well.

the problem I ran into was that I already had a ford harness on the radio and i didn't want to spend the extra money to buy another to get tb hookups, luckily i found just the sub harness saved 10$ or whatever it was. You will need a voltage regulator 7805 is the number i believe, its a 12v to 5v dc it was 2 bucks at radio shack and i just soldered the wires directly to the prongs and wrapped them in tape to keep from touching easy enough i also wired in an automatic parking bypass (no need to flip any switches) I am extremley happy with everything although i do plan on replacing the stock subs with kicker comp series simply to get a cleaner sound out of them I used a kenwood ddx616 headunit btw

Don't be surprised when your door subs don't put out the volume anymore if you change them out. The stock subs are like 1.2 ohms. After market subs are anywhere from 2 - 4 ohms and work best if you use an amp other than the stock shaker 500 amps.
