Ok I am very confused about this one. About a month ago is when this problem started. When I turn the key over the starter turns, but doesn't engage the flywheel. I have an '87 5.0 Hatch 5-speed. I've replaced the starter, it still wouldn't engage the flywheel so I bench tested the starter. The bendix pops out smoothly and it has plenty of tourqe. The engine is NOT locked up, i CAN push start it. I have inspected the flywheel, no missing teeth. I have replaced the ignition switch, the starter relay, the starter wire, my battery and most recently i have replaced the inspection cover for the flywheel. I have tried everything i can possibly think of, if anyone has any ideas, or has ever had this problem before PLEASE let me know what to do!!!!! Thanx,

BTW there is no grinding sounds, just the obvious spinning noise of the starter.
