I have just discovered a rather large rusted hole in the outer cowl side panel on my 69 mustang. I am in the process of planning a repair, either a patch or a replacement. I was wondering if anyone has done this repair and how difficult a complete cowl side panel removal and replacement would be. Thanks for your help.

that panel is available and easy to replace. just drill the spot welds and it comes off from the out side. it is one of the easiest to replace.

Thanks Horse Sence. I am also assuming that this is not of the structural nature that requires the car to be supported in any special way during replacement.

every piece of a unibody car is part of the structure but that panel should not cause any problems. it wouldn't hurt to place a jack stand under the rocker just below the panel to be replaced though.
