I'm thinking about getting a Shelby hood, anybody have any experience with which manufacturer is best for fit, etc.

Thanks

I got mine from branda and the guy I talked with referenced it as the burgandy one. It fit very well and only sits a bit high in the center rear... other than that, I am very happy with it and did not have to cut anything on it.

Mine is a 65 so it would be different but I would assume the quality would be comparable. I guess you don't know who the manufacturer of the hood is? Branda is the supplier and is 3000+ miles from me so shipping would probably kill me but I can ask.

They have several models, is yours partial or full steel or the vacuum formed with full steel?

.....also started checking on your build, very nice. I'm been thinking about dropping a 5.0 EFI in for a long time, I look forward to checking that out

No, they never gave me a mfg name... I ordered a ton from them at one time and got it all. It is full fiberglass (inner/outer). If I could get the steel frame, I would probably lean towards that one, as long as there are no bad effects on getting it all to seal together.

The trunk was the vacuum formed and it fit great. There is only one section that is a bit high, that I did not fix, but I can live with it. I am in TX and they had to truck ship it for me and it was costly... but since I bought so much from them at one time... one truck came that had all I needed and I even got a discount for the amount spent... not too bad.

Just call them and tell them what you are looking for. They were very upfront with me (especially on the california special quarter trim) and they did not lie on anything. Worth the effort, and just ask anyone who you are thinking of buying from.

Good luck and thanks for the compliments.
