Recommendations needed.

My daily driver is a 2001 Cobra Mustang. My home is in a quiet suburban neighborhood and while the car is not obnoxiously loud my 4:45 departure each morning is more noticeable then I'd like it to be.

I seek ideas for ways to quiet my car and I'll spend to get it done well.

Does it have an offroad midpipe? If so, a catted midpipe will quiet it down dramatically.

If your system is stock, there's not much, if anything, you can do to quiet it down any more.

If your entire exhaust system from the manifolds all the way back to the exhaust tips is 100% stock there is basically nothing you can do...but its already quiet from the factory anyway I cant imagine why you would feel the need to make it any more quiet.

If it has an aftermarket H pipe, that could explain alot. If it has cats, then it should still be really quiet, if its offroad then theres a simple solution. Get a stock cobra H pipe or an aftermarket H or X with cats. Simple.

I had attempted to do the same thing awhile back and local motor heads had talked about exhaust inserts. The only thing I found doing a quick search was what was mentioned in this article http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2000/09/ccinserts/index.shtml. I thought Bassani made one but I did not see it on their site. Good luck.

I suppose you could have some real small mufflers welded in at the tailpipes but it will look terrible. I would actually suggest you buy some earplugs to wear so you don't notice it, and just not care what the neighbors think. This of course coming form someone who has and offroad h-pipe with Borla stingers and thinks every car should have flames out the tailpipe.
