shift kit

I am thinking about getting a B&M shift kit. I was woundering how hard is it to install one.

Not hard but I think there is a spring that is loaded against the pan when you take it off and it will cause your car to stay stuck in gears if it not installed. At least that what happend on my '86 auto fox. I'm not sure the SN's have it or not, just an FYI.
