shift light in a cobra?

I am sure you have all discussed this before, maybe not though.
I have an '04 Cobra, I didn't buy it for the gas mileage, I bought it because it is freakin' fast. Why, why, why is there a shift light that comes on at 1750 rpm? I really don't need to know when I get to 1750, it might be nice if it came on at 6500rpm?
I don't know maybe there is a reason.

2. Remove the whole dash cluster and disable the bulb.

3. Have it changed with a custom tune!

Mine comes on at 6800 RPM's thanks to my Predator tune.
