My gauge cluster in my 95 gt came out of a 95 cobra and I have no clue how accurate my tach is but I'm guessing not very since I run out of gas when I'm on 1/4 tank. So I'm thinking about getting a shift light and I'd like one that's pseudo discrete, I don't want a Mag Light hanging from my a pillar. Any recommendations? How accurate are they and how do they work? Also I'd like to mention that I really don't want an aftermarket tach, I'm trying to keep a stockish appearance.

A custom Speedhut gauge is an idea. Pricey, but a good warranty and fully customizable. I can't remember who, but I think @Noobz347 or @revhead347 had a good insight on interior gauges. Whoever will have some links.

I did not get that alert.

You don't wanna ask me about gauges though. I have an expensive taste in white face analog gauges that can be tough to come by. lol

Seriously though... Im the type that would do my very best to confirm that my OEM is as accurate as possible so that I don't have some big ugly "Ricky the Red Neck Racer" tach sitting on my dash.

For a shift light? I like pillar pods that house two or more gauges along with a shift light. For shift lights, I like the ones that are programmable for each gear.

Raptor shift light in an ac vent is probably going to be the most sleeperish way to go about it. Programmable, and only about 3/4" diameter. Three wires: ignition on, ground, and signal (coil).

Autometer also makes several kinds, i have one that i need to install that has a digital rpm readout since i dont trust my tach for , but its larger than the raptor and not as essy to hide. Install is the same though

I always had one with an aftermarket tach so I can't help with much. Just a fwiw once you do get it installed and go to a track I recommend setting it about 2-500rpm below where you want to shift at. Depending on your reflexes that is.

Signal is from the green wire on the coil, all a tach or shift light is is a pulse counter, and counts how many times the coil fires per second.

If you have an aftermarket ignition box (msd ir whatever) it will have a tach signal wire or connector because going right off the coil will kill the tach/light.

Yup, should have a connection labeled tach signal. Green wire from the light connects there.

What is it about this one that you like? Also... The instructions/description in that link are screwed up, can you explain the functions of the two dials?

I like the ease of installation, size, and the way it performs. Yup, that's what she said!!!!!

A better idea, this thread shows how to adjust your stock tach to be completely accurate using the adjustment pods on the back of the tach> http://forums.corral.net/forums/gen...urate-your-stock-fox-tach-results-inside.html
