Shifter knob?

So this is a very silly questions, but I need to know how to take off the factory shifter knob on my stang. I want to change it out and am clueless. HELP!?!

I think you just turn counter clock wise WOman, I am not sure if there is a lock of some sort though as I have never tried on the s197's. Forgot you are a girl so edit on the man

It might be easiest to pop the leather boot off of the console (just snap fits holding it in) and spin the whole thing off, then separate the boot from the knob. Either removing the boot from the shift knob or the console first makes it easier.
