Are there any aftermarket shifters for my 5spd (3650) that move the handle further back toward the driver. I feel like I really have to reach forward to the point my back comes up off the seat. Iwas looking at the steeda triax. It seems like it comes back a little. Any suggestions?

I think the MGW one comes back a little further. I had a tri-ax, I loved the shifts..... I have a friend with the MGW, I think the throws might be just a little shorter, but I liked that the handle is adjustable to right where you want it. The shifts didnt feel as crisp as my tri-ax, but it felt like a good piece.

How about the Roush Roadrace 3650 shifter?
Got it an love it don't feel like a minnie me shifter. I've got long arms but it feels great its right off the steering wheel don't have to reach the radio to shift it.
And It has the closeness shifting of the MGW.

I have this shifter as well, I love it. There is only 2 downsides, its kinda a pain in the ass to install the shift boot, and you can not drive with a cup in the cup holder.

I agree with vertigasen, the Tri Ax is a great shifter. Not smooth, but thats what you want on the track when pounding through the gears. If you miss a shift with the Tri Ax, you can't drive a stick. It does provide much better placement for shifting without having to reach and I have my seat fully adjusted to the rear.

Hell, I cant put a cup in the cup holder with my Pro 5.0 shifter. Even with the stock shifter it would hit anything in there.

The Steeda Tri-Ax will move the shifter towards the driver, I don't have an exact measurement, but it is exactly what you are looking for. This is a great piece with a lot of engineering and solid manufacturing behind it. You won't be disappointed when you pull the trigger.

Like Bob said you won't miss a shift!!

PM if you have any more questions.

Thanks

Thanks for the info. I looked at the mgw already, will have to look into the roush. After 9 yr of keeping it stock I finally decided to drop a few hundred for upgrades. There have been just too many other things to spend money on since I bought it. New house and two kids. Better late than never. Also planning on SLP loudmouth catback and on the fence about 3.73 gears. This is my summer ride. 03 GT Vert. Wonder if the slp will be too loud with top down.
