Does anybody besides Steeda have a shifter for the new 'Stangs? Surely MGW and PRO 5.0 are working on this.

I seem to recall a recent article in MM&FF where they described installing an aftermarket shifter in an 05. An improvement, sure, but more difficult than the easy-install of the previous Stang. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they had to lower the tranny? Maybe that explains the difficulty finding 05 shifters.
A little advice: The steeda shifter can be installed with out disconnecting the drive shaft or lowering the trans. Remove old shifter from inside the car, then attach the long arm to the trans. Install the shifter part from the inside of the car and connect the two under the car. It worked for me.

According to an article in Jan05 HOT ROD (pg 90), the remote stock shifter is body-mounted... and so floppy that power shift is hit-or-miss. Photo in HOT ROD shows an aftermarket long arm connecting direct to trans, looks like a more solid mounting arrangement. Maybe noisier, but I bet shifting is much more solid, especially under hard acceleration.
The shifts are very positive and quite frankly it takes some getting used to. Once you get the closer shift pattern mastered you will never go back to the stock shifter. The down side is that it does transmit some tranny noise (more so if you have one of those "NOISY" trannys like me). I found using the stock rubber bushings at the billet arm tranny connection and a rubber insulator, like a small shock rubber cut in half, placed between the main shifter body and the car's floorboard on the long studs goes a long way to quieting things down. With these mods the shifts are not race car tight but are still a vast improvment over stock and you keep most of the noise out of the car if that is important to you.
