shifting prob??

im havin some problems with my shifting... i can slap 1st and second no problem but 3rd and 4th get hung up everytime, sometimes its grinds a lil... any ideas of whats up? im really hopin nothins wrong with my syncros or anything major... i wanna get a pro 5.0 shifter soon and hopefully that will clear it up

I would say that it is in the tranny, most likely either a bad synchro or a couple bad blocker rings(maybe the fricition material is worn out) Just an educated guess you can't ever tell for absolute sure till you get the tranny apart

my guess is synchros. synchros are 50% always the problem whenever dealing with shifting. its like they are mad or something

damn, i was hoping it wasnt the synchros.... how much is that to fix?

it could be your cable also. Im not saying its not your synchro but you should try to adjust your cable and do other problems shooting before buying another tranny or rebuilt it. just a suggestion, good luck.

my bro's 1990 GT does that for 2nd and 3rd... syncros were to blame, and it was $800 to have it rebuilt... sorry for the bad news, but it runs great now
