I have an 03 Sc, 7000 miles. I notice when uner hard acceleration it doesnt want to goto third. I have a good transmission frieind but he doesnt always know eveything. My question is has anybody had this problem before and do they know if its internal or the need for a better then stock shifter. My guess or how it fees is when the car is under load its twisting and mis-aligning the shifter. It doesnt happen any other gear or under downshifting. thanks and I hope top continue to monitr the board and eventually be able to give feed back!

2 weeks ago we converted my sons f1990 fox body ex GHP coupe to the MGW shifter. I suggested he try a commonly accepted name brand.............wrong.

It is very...very nice. I highly advise you try an aftermarket...good shifter. The MGW is darn nice.

Mine had the same problem with third, and second was really "notchy" at times. Sometimes in 2nd as I would let the clutch out, it was just not "in" gear even though it felt like it went in all the way.

Ford has a TSB on the 3650 transmission. It calls for replacing almost everything inside it. I just had them do mine (and had the clutch upgraded while they had the tranny out), can't give you much of a review yet, as the weather has been bad since I got it back two months ago. In the 4.6 Tech forum there is a huge thread about the problems and the TSB.

No, all warranty. I had it in for these issues about three times, then they did the TSB. The only thing I paid for was for them to resurace the flywheel and swap the clutch, as that was my choice to change the clutch.
