I would highly recommend it unless you want to stay totally stock, and especially if you put a heavier engine in there. I plan to do it, and it's hard to fault the race engineers that did this - after all, they won in '70. They acid-dipped and shaved weight off these cars in lots of other ways, but they definitely beefed up the shock tower area and tied it into the frame rail more. Those cars could pull over 1g on race tires. It's worth it too if you have wider tires and upgraded brakes, as there is more stress in cornering and braking.
