Shocks or Control Arms?

I'm starting to do some suspension upgrades soon. I've got some lowering springs, CC plates, ball joints, and a bumpsteer kit ready to install. I'm also thinking about doing upper and lower control arms or shocks at the same time, but I don't think I can afford to do both right away. Which should I do first? Car's a weekend warrior street car taken to the drag strip occasionally. Thanks!

I did upper control arms and shocks and my car seems to handle really well (as well as lowering springs). I think its easiest if you do the lower control arms, springs, and rear shocks at the same time since they are all related. you will save a lot of time if you do it that way.

I did tokico 'bullitt' shocks and struts along w/ springs at the same time. I goofed though and didnt do the CC's as well.

My 'lesson learned' here is you're on the right path: do as much as you can while you're doing it. I suggest shocks&struts as the UCA/LCA's are easier to do on their own. But I would think the UCA/LCA's would help more at the strip

You should change your shocks if you are using lowering springs, but the control arms will help you better at the drag strip. If the shocks could be soon thereafter I would kill the stockers then replace em later. Go with the control arms if you can do that.

Thanks for the input, everyone. I guess I'll be going for Bilstein shocks. Since I don't drive it every day, the stock ones might have a lot of life in them timewise, but the roads around here really suck and that damn BMW I drive to work handles better AND rides smoother...the stang has a a high bar to achieve.
