I am in Chandler looking for a good place to get a top replaced. Car is not my daily driver so I could leave in Phoenix etc. Needs top,glass, pads, headliner and all weather stripping. Any recomendations and ideas on how much $$$$$.
I had an 88 GT conv. and live in the Phoenix area. I went to Mendoza Auto Interiors at 51st ave and Glenadale. Its a little bit of a drive for you but i was more than satisfied by there work. It was like 5 years ago now but i think it cost me like 900$ for new top,window and install.
Looks like this is going to run me over 1k, having a hard time swallowing that since I only paid$1,400.00 for the car. Bought off ebay a couple of years ago. Car has a straight body but is basically a beater needs top full interior etc. Keeping going back and forth on whether to do the top and interior or just try and sell the car. Leaning towards doing the top, sn-95 seats, and Quick spray job. Got lucky passed emissions today and tagged after sitting for two years. Gotta love 2 years registration for $30.00.
Russell, If the car is rough, I'd consider doing it yourself to save cash. Having a weather-tight top in AZ is not nearly as important as having one in Seattle, IMHO.
Have you asked on 1320stangs.com? There's a grip of Phx area guys on there and someone might have a hook-up.
