NOOOO...your in the bay area right?

Go to cafords.com, sign up, and PM JohnB. he is the tech mod.

He installed my 4.10s for $180 and he did it in a about 1 hour and 15 minutes with me just standing there talking to him the whole time. He is highly recommended in the bay area for gear install...well hell, almost any install. CONTACT HIM!

EDIT: He is in Susin City BTW

They obviously have no idea what they are talking about if they think 4.10s are too steep. I wouldnt let them touch my car.

really? yeah i was thinking about it. Sitting in the slow lane at 70-75 with my tach at 3300 sounds kinda weak tho.

Nothing wrong with 4.10s. Got em in my auto and love em, plenty of 1st gear but the tranny shifts out of it by like 5-10mph..heh..

My buddy has 4.30s in his gt.. you can start off in 2nd and not even notice. Still okay though.

At 70-75 I turn maybe 3,100-3,200 with 4.30's. I use first gear every time I take off from a stop. My transmission is the T-45; are your transmission ratios different than mine?

Re. noise, I can see a shop not wanting to install a particular brand, or just not wanting to install a part that they didn't sell. But he's way off base with his opinion on the ratio.

If it's not too far, call Rear End Specialties in Santa Clara (San Jose).

I was quoted 250 for install at a shop around here, but im on the opposite coast... haha.

The T-45 has a slightly higher ratio in 5th gear, so we will tach a little higher in 5th compared to those with the T-3650...
