What would the shop time be to remove a T-5 from my 94 gt? I thought I could pull it myself in under 2 hours..

I bet they'd hit you with something like a 2 hour labor charge, regardless of actual time, unless you could work something out on an agreed fee. I've done a complete clutch job in about an hour and a half on mine, but I was really hurrying because it was winter and I put a new flywheel in, so I had everything ready to go.

Just R&R the T5..? I bet most shops would hit you for 3 hours and it would take them well under 2 hours to do.

$125

My parents have a guy watching their place this winter and he is an out of work painter/mechanic. He normally works for about $25 an hour for mechanical.. (he is using my dads shop and is staying there for free)

he told me he would pull the T-5 out of my car *(which i am storing out there) since reverse gear is gone. He went ahead and pulled the t-5 and said my bill would be $125... i think this is quite steep for that job.. I was thinking about half of that would make more sense..

3.3 is the time but as a tech we would round up to about 3.5-4.0hrs if we knew we would run into problems
