Hi all,

Sharing a stock 2011 v6 mustang for track day coming soon, with an out of state friend who's clueless about mechanical stuff... I need to either order new pad$$$ or not on 11/1 Monday to get here in time. I've got 2009-v6-compatible track-brake-pads and 16" older stang wheels with slicks to put on, but I don't know if either will fit on the 2011 v6.

1. Please advise if the 2011 brake-pads use different shaped pads 2009 V6 platform or same:
a. Fronts?
b Rears?

Hoping i can use my existing set of Porterfield R4 track pads.

for a 2009 front pad shape outline see :: #1 Race Specialist in The World :: »

For a 2009 rear pad shape see :: #1 Race Specialist in The World :: »

2. Also are the 2011 calipers and rotors a bigger overall diameter? re the 16" wheels fitment over the calipers which are a snug fit on the '09. (kinda doubt if they could tolerate even 1/4" bigger diameter.) Hoping to use my existing wheels/slicks, instead of stock tires (ick).

2011 V6 cars use the same size front rotors as the 2010 and earlier GT, 12.4" instead of 11.5".

The calipers are the same although the pads for the front may be different due to the larger rotors.

And I doubt your 16" wheels will clear.

The rear pads should work just fine, they are all the same size.
