Why is it any time a thread about shifters someone always makes a comment about someone else not being able to shift

Personaly I don't like the tri-ax and have luke warm feelings towards the pro 5.0. I like the Hurst shifters the best, but it's all personal preference. I would recommend trying several types before you purchase one.

with my tri-ax, i have never missed a shift because of the shifter. whenever i miss a shift, it was because of driver error.

I have tried the tri-ax, much sloppier than the pro 5.0, but hella better than stock, the handle is a less severe switch from stock too... but I still say Pro 5.0 all the way, especially if you race it at all, you'll love it.... and the reach issue isn't really an issue as long as you are over 5'6" tall, and don't have the seat all the way back...

i am 6' even and i HAVE to sit with the seat all the way back to have adequate legroom. i had to reach for 3rd and 5th because of the angle the shifter handle sits at. for me, the choice between the tri-ax and the pro5.0 came down to what was more comfortable for me. in all honesty, i didnt feel much of a difference in shift quality between the two.

I am about 5'10'' and I have the seat all the way back, its just not comfortable any closer.

what I meant was, 5'5" AND had the seat all the way back

-I am 6' and have the seat all the way back, I dont' have to reach for the shift, it's just not as relaxed as the stock shifter though...
