I am in the very beginning stages of a project car (think planning and slowly acquiring parts).
Looking to go with a decent compression N/A set up, using some parts off my current car. I found an ad for a short block set up being sold cheap. It is a 308, with Eagle Rods and what appears to be Speed Pro 4.040 forged pistons. The seller states 10.5:1 compression, however it was on a twin turbo set up. The pistons and rods are out of the block and he says it needs bearings. I am not so interested in his block (I have one I am picking up next weekend and might rather start from a fresh block than something that has been abused). Would you guys be leary on using pistons/rods from a car that had boost? I have a few photos from him, showing some scuffs along the side of the piston skirt (where the speed pro lightning bolt logo is). I am waiting to get more info on how many miles on the set up etc...
