Experience. Don't get me wrong, a mac or upr is a improvement over stock. But I hated both of them. I have been trial and error in the mustang world for 16 years. I am here to tell you, If it costs more there is most likely a reason.

My cars:

96 Cobra: Pro 5.0

91 Notch: MAC

81 Notch: Steeda Tri-Ax

Haven't drive the 81 yet....but the other two shifters feel the same.

MGW is my personal choice but you can't go wrong with a Pro 5.0 or tri-axe either.

Had the Steeda - didn't really care for it. I LOVE my Pro5.0.

Another vote for Pro 5.0. I positively LOVE the one that's in Frankenstang's '89 notch (formerly MY notch, heh), coupled with a Steeda Tri-Ax handle. I also really liked the feel of the Hurst Billet Plus that my buddy has in his '90 notch, as well.

I love it too. (Pro 5.0) Once I can afford it, my Capri's stock shifter will be replaced with one.
