I AM LOOKING TO BUY SOME SHORTY HEADERS 4 MY 96 GT,AND I AM UNSURE AS TO WHAT BRAND I WANNA PURCHASE? I WAS LOOKING INTO EITHER FORD RACING,JBA,OR BBK, BUT I READ 2 MANY BAD REVEIWS ABOUT THE BBK'S SO I DECIDED NOT 2 GO WITH THOSE. ALSO WILL ALL THESE HEADERS BE COMPATIBLE WITH A BASSANI CATTED X PIPE? ALSO I STILL PLAN ON DOING THE PI HEADSWAP DOWN THE ROAD AND I WAS WONDERING IF THE HEADERS I PURCHASE 4 MY 96 WILL BE COMPATIBLE WITH THE PI HEADS...ANY HELP OR INFO WOULD BE APPRECIATED....THANX

IMO all shorty headers are a waste of money.

Longtubes are hands down farrrrrr better.

I could be wrong but JBA shortys may be the only ones legal in California. They do have a CARB number. FRPP shorty headers might be legal too but I am not sure. I know LT's will give better performance but they are not legal in CA.

your best bet is to call up JBA and ask them about the PI swap. as for where to buy them, try using Stangnet's Partshopper.

BBK's equal length shortys just came out. What and how did you hear bad things about it? I am hoping to add this to my stang.

Go with ford motorsport short ceramic coated headers. Jba short headers have rep for cracking over time. The fms hold heat very well and are very compatable with every setup. I see you live in northern Cali, look up a shop called apex motorsports, they have a good reputation around here. They'll give you great advice for what products you should buy for your vehicle

JBAs all the way. And yes long tubes give better performance, but JBAs are generally good for 8-10rwhp. And they matchup to regular H and X pipes. And you don't have to uninstall them to change a clutch out like you do with most LTs. And they're CARB certified.

In case you can't tell I'm tired of the "shorties are a waste of time" comments.

call all of the manufactures that you are considering and ask if they are CARB certified. for all those people saying use LT's, THEY ARE ILLEGAL IN CA, so its out of the question.

Are the midlength JBA's legal? If not are they as good as longtubes or somewhere between longtubes and shorties?

i do not belive that midlegths are legal because they still require a new midpipe. and i do not believe that any modpipes are legal in CA. magnaflow has CARB legal cats, but you can only use them if u are our of the 8yr/80k mile warrenty and your stock cats have been deemed inoperatable.

the midlength JBA's are NOT legal to run in california unless they are on an offroad car (race car)
