The future Americans who will be even more obese than our current generation. Makes me wonder what the next "obese" issue of Time magazine will look like (with a big blubber on the front cover).

You wasted more time speeding and being stopped, confronted, and having a bitching match, insted of driving regularly

Not many people care (majority) around you about someone's sick grandma, they are worried about their kids being safe around their house and neighborhood. recklessness leads to more injuries, think about it, if you were doing 50mph in a 25 zone and plowed into a kid, and told his/or her mom "hey I'm sorry, I wanted to get to the hospital so my girlfriend can see her grandma" She wouldn't give a ****.

If that was me, I'd woop your butt if you got out

... exactly, becuase as you know I love people standing in the middle of the street physically stopping me from moving my vehicle and I chose to waste that time. I could have just plowed right into him, but I didn't. I do have common sense and I knew what I was doing. Oh, and I know this is an online forum and you think you may be cool by telling me you would have "whooped my butt" if that were you, but trust me, you wouldn't have.

You should have told him you had an emergency and you don't normally drive like this. If he spouted off to you beyond that, you should have just shrugged your shoulders and calmly said…

"Hey, I tried to explain my situation to you and it seems to have fallen on deaf ears, so on that note feel free to call the cops and continue this conversation with them. Until then, I’ve got things to do and none of them include arguing with you in the middle of this street, so if you don’t mind, get the **** out of my way!!!"

…and then promptly drive off.

Its just like if someone were racing down my street, Id do the exact same thing, try to get them to stop if I saw them again, but If he immediately says something no matter what it is or how many swear words it included about trying to get to the hospital, Id say sorry and let him be

Thats what I was trying to get at, When the first thing he said to me was slow the f down or something along those line, my reply was im trying to get my fing girlfriend to the hospital or something along those lines. At that point if I had heard Im trying to get to the hospital, I would have just walked away and maybe left with a ok man, just try n slow down. But no he continued to talk. I was heated. My emotions were flying and this guy stopping me from getting to the hospital was the last thing I needed.

Sorry this was in reply to gearbanger, just quoted what i had said earlier

are you ever going to see this guy again? **** him, thats what i say (not literally though, but i suppose that would show him too)

i understand your sense of urgency though. atleast you had the presence of mind to know there was a busy house on the street and to slow it down. the guy is just a hardass. forget him, let him feel tough for a few moments.

i got pissed at my ex back in HS and i drew donuts in her yard. i wouldnt recomend doing that but it did make me feel better. her dad did have a lot to say about it when we got back together a few weeks later

hahah, yeah i bet he did. im surprised he didnt kill you dead, on the spot.

The most I do is give the speeders in front of my house dirty looks. I would never consider blocking their car with my body

Well I meen, Im at her house every day for the most part, and I have to pass his house to get there. Its not like they are immediate neighbors or anything but close enough that he knows who's house I am always going to. I doubt my gf's family and this guy have ever even talked. I could care less about the guy's feelings or anything, but you know how it can be with neighbors, I just wanted to clear up any bad feelings between close houses becuase you never know they might end up having to deal with them in the near future or soemthing.

this is just another example of what is wrong with America. people thinking only of themselves and not respecting others. i'd be pissed if some a-hole was going twice the speed limit in my neighborhood too.

Ok well question, if someone who means alot to you mother/sister was in the hospital and you were told theres probably only a short amount of time for her to live, you would drive the posted speed limit all the way to the hospital? Just wondering.

I'm not so sure DBM, he was thinking of his G/F and knew of her grandmother's history. 50 in a 25 was pushing it, I wasn't there, I don't know how the neighborhood is laid out, the guy sounds reasonable and he made a judgement call and it worked out. He even understands why his neighbor is pissed about the speeding. I'd try to explain it to him...once... and without any confrontation, if it was a problem for the other guy, just walk away, you tried.
Eventually, he'll stand in front of the wrong car and your problems will be over.

Hell no, and I've done it. My wife's grandfather was passing and we got the phone call, we made it there with minutes to spare. I probably would of hit and run if it had so happened.

You mean like 50 year old, middle age males like me...with concealed weapons permits?
Instead of escalating everything, try to de-escalate it, you never know when you might go to the bank for a new car loan and this guy turns out to be the loan officer. People you piss off have a bad habit of turning up later in life when you really need a break.

Nah actually quite a populus town. I knew exactly what he was doing when I saw him in the distance. Pretty obvious.
