I just installed new bilsteins. Should I get an alignment now or later? I had my car lowered for a year without being realigned and had no uneven wear on my tires.

Do I need new cc plates? My buddy who works at a shop said I should get adjustable cc plates if I want a proper alignment. But I'm only lowere about 1.2" on Eibach Pros...any opinions?

Just get the alignment, some people don't need the cc plates and some do. I don't have them but when I put the 275s on the front I started to feel the bump steer, which I corrected. The alignment will tell you how far off you are.

Bring it into a shop and see if your alignment is off. If it is then see if they can align it without cc plates. If you take out the rivits in the stock plates then youll have more adjustment and might not even need new cc plates. If you do need new ones then I highly recommend MM 4 bolt.

03gtmustang is right on the money.

If it is out of alignment and they can't do it through the stock C/C plates when removing the rivets, they will most likely offer to install a camber kit (I have this). This will bring you back into alignment.

The only caution I have when purchasing aftermarket C/C plates is that they may not be able to bring your car back into alignment because 'Stangs have been known to get pretty wacked out with excessive amounts of camber.

This is something to watch out for before you invest money on new C/C plates.

take it so a Sears Auto to get it aligned. they have a 6 month/6,000 mile warrenty on the alignment. they will tell you if you need a camber kit or not, and they will give you a printout of where you are at alignment wise. if you do need plates, then i highly suggest the Maximum Motorsports 4 bolt C/C plates. they are by far the best on the market.

What exactly is bump steer and what does it do when you are driving?? I know on bikes it keeps your steering stable so your handlebars dont go out of control (back and forth) causing you to lose control.
