Wassup guys I've been doing my research and I have come down to 3 picks: 350z,gto and the mustang. I'm going more towards the mustang but I wanna know if its reliable. I have always had toyotas and as all of you know these cars are hard to kill. I wanna know if the mustang is like some of the other american cars which break down after the first 2 years of being owned.

Thanks

Which cars would those be?

American cars are very reliable, your mindset is stuck in the late 70's early 80's. All I can say is that the Z is rice. The mustang and the goat are nice, and they will both spank a Z.

If you want reliable (but slow) get the Nissan.......

If you want trendy but solid performance get the Mustang..........

If you want a excellent value for the (current) money and tons of V8 muscle car power get the goat

The Mustang's fairly reliable, probably more so than the GTO, based on my own experiences with GM products. 350Z should be reliable too, just depends on if you prefer a musclecar or a corner-carver.

you come to a mustang board and ask a question like that stick with the toyota cause were gona tell you mustang duh

Like I said I'm leaning towards the stang, thats why I came here to see what stang owners had to say. I've just heard alot of bad things about american cars specially ford.

Thanks for the replies guys, I guess am sticking with the mustang. For now anyways

Please do NOT get a Mustang. If everyone stops buying Mustangs the dealers will be glad to sell at X plan and Ford will have to offer rebates. That way I'll finally be able to afford my 06 Stang.

You may have heard bad things about american cars. But I believe that in one of the last JD Powers surveys on quality. Ford beat Nissan.

I really disagree about the GTO. I think it's overpriced. Yes, it performs well but the styling will put you to sleep. And the Mustang will be relaible. Don't worry about that as an issue.

GTO overpriced?

Heck you can get a loaded goat cheaper than a Mustang GT in many parts of the country!

You have the "over-priced" backwards

Honestly, I think it boils down to something very simple: Which one do you enjoy driving the most?

When I was purchasing, I wanted a coupe/vert that stands out, that is fun to drive, and makes me happy with the fit.

I had it down to a Mini Cooper S and the Stang - the cars at which I was looking were about the same price. The Cooper has excellent quality and resale value. It is also still different enough that it's fun to watch people's faces. The Stang is much more comfortable for me (physically - I'm well over 6 feet), it has a style that reminds me very much of my youth (we played "count the mustangs" on long trips, as far back as I can remember), and it drives like a house afire!

It makes me happy to drive my Stang. Let your heart be your guide.

Mustang?

From my experience with a '97 GT and my current 2000-I think Mustangs are very reliable. I've got 86K miles on my 2000 and have had zero problems. The new Mustangs are going to be a piece of history-go with American muscle! The GTO is two things-it is hot, but sooo ugly.
