i been lookin for hood for a while and was set on getting cobra R or 2 or 3 inch cowl hood for my 99, well i found a guy localy that has a proto type crabon fiber hood that is exactof that on the Saleen S281E cars, the hood looks pretty sweet. it is kinda in the other direction for me but he wants practicly nothing for it because the bolts on one side broke loose from the hood where it is hinged...he said its an easy fix by using a good cement (dental cement could work best he said) and he said other than that its prefect, so im pretty sure about this, what do you guys think?

If it is cheap and you can get it to fit and you can fix the damage...then go for it. The saleen hood is awsome.

I'm kind of weary when it comes to buying other people's broken parts. Your always going to hear "Oh it's an easy fix." If so, then why doesn't he have it fixed and sell if for $250? Maybe it is a good deal, but be careful about it.

Oh i know, but i doubt the carbon fiber hood was cheap to begin with...i mean i can see cheesey fiberglass hoods, but not too many companys waste thier time and money to develope a cheesey carbon fiber hood, i'll see if i can get a pic.

BUYER BEWARE!..and ..dental cement is for teeth not for aftermarket hoods.
If the hood should fly off and come thru the windshield -will you regret it?

if you want to glue CF you need an epoxy, MGS epoxy resin is the best and highly recommended for CF
