I have some used Roush 200 heads which has a bent valve and weak or wrong springs which causes alot of valve float at higher RPM's. I have to make a decesion here. Do I spend $400 - $450 to have the old Cast Iron Roushes re-worked or do I spend some coin on aluminum. opinions please?

This is just me but ...... Here would be my main concerns

how much are they worth in good shape

how much to get them that way

how do they compare to Eddy's, TFS, & AFR

Gotta Have GOOD data to make GOOD decisions

Well, They would be worth about what I would have into getting them strait I believe. I know they will not perform like the aluminums you stated. I have also researched and found that the Roush 200 heads are best when used with a supercharger as the intake runners are too large and also reduces compresion. So low end will not be as good. I would like to go with some Eddlebrock Performers but on the fence as to if I want to spend that kind of money or not. Sometimes it helps to hear what Mustang educated people like yourself would do in this matter..

I think you should sell those"crappy cast iron heads" to me real cheap and buy some name brand aluminum ones that everybody will approve of.

If it were me ,I'd work the Roush heads and put them back on.They are real good heads when used on the right application. I have one set on my 354 stroker street car,and another set on my 306 track car. I like them.

Whats your combo and what are you looking for? There's alott more to picking the right head for the application than picking a name or "aluminum".

Well, I just ordered some Edelbrock 60329 heads. I took the Roush heads and had them evaluated at a machine shop that has a very good reputation along with pictures of what marks were made on a few of my pistons. They told me that I have stock pistons and those heads will not work with my combo. All they need is one valve replaced. What a shame.. I was thinking about maybe taking the "A" hole that built my engine to small claims court to reclaim the $700.00 I spent on them. If you are interested maybe I might just give you a deal instead.

Good to see the damage is not too bad

Its always a good idea to clay it up and check things ...

however

This site and most other Stang sites have lots of info about issues when you put together big valve sizes and oem short blocks.

Seems like your guy would'a known or checked for clearance

Good luck with the Eddy's
