i have a pretty simple question..

i have gt-40 heads ported, headers, o/r h-pipe, mass air meter, throttle body, cobra intake with ported lower, basicaly everything besides a cam.

should i have my FP higher then 38 without vac? i havent really gotten on the car since installing my heads so i dont have alot of feel for it. should i jump it up to 45 just to be safe?

thanks

Unless you have measured proof (wide band O2) that you are running lean at WOT, there is no need to bump the fuel pressure. If you are truly running lean, and assuming your fuel pump is sufficient, then you might want to consider larger injectors. Otherwise, your computer's adaptive control will automatically adjust the injector timing up or down to maintain the proper air/fuel ratio during part-throttle, so there would be nothing to be gained, in the long term, from adjusting fuel pressure.

im not real sure if its falling on its face or not, yet.

just wanted some before hand advice possibly since i just upped my flow quite abit with the heads. i had a rocker bolt strip on me and i spent the last 3 days fixing it and removing. im about to fire it up again tonight with my electric fan and some other stuff freshly installed.

Wow hope you didn't overtorque them rockers, you can play around with it but if you go to high or to low it will start to run bad, just take it on a drive with a screwdriver & keep adjusting it untill you get it about right, the only real way of adjusting it correctly is putting it on a dyno that has the equipment to correctly adjust.

Leave it at the stock pressure - drive it for while and see what you've got. Mine has a mild H/C/I and it's fine with the 19# injectors at stock pressure. In any event, you're gonna outrun the stock fuel pump before you outrun the stock injectors - so you won't know about your injectors until you upgrade your fuel pump.

thanks mr. yount

i didnt overtorque them, it happened on a removal. using a star-40 it was in there, not at an angle or anything, i always go slow and i went slow. then it just gave and stripped.

tried pounding in a star 45, 1/4" allens, flatheads, everything short of removing the head. i just spent like 6 or so hours drilling/dremeling the head of the bolt off and pulling up the rocker. after that i removed the bolt.. back to normal now i think.

i got a decent sized pool of oil under the car, and my headers were smoking but thats just from re-oiling them again and it running off.
