I wondered about that here in Texas as well... when i got my car it didn't have a shoulder set up, but I went ahead and put on the one my parents got me. Still just keep it out of the way by the top of the door. Made a nifty little bracket too out of some chain and some electrical box material if anyone is interested to know how.
