Alright, no bright shiny new paint jobs or polished engine bays. This is about the faded paint job, mismatched body panels, door dings, and rust covered 5.0s that a lot of us have and LOVE!

I just got back from a quick cruise in the 5.0. Its got dings, the original 89 paint job is LONG gone thanks to the FL sun, but I still love every minute of going through the gears in her! Go ahead and show off your car show losing mustang guys! Be proud

Kevins89....Looks like all that car needs is a couple strong hours of buffing. Looks to be quite a nice coupe with a huge amount of potential.

Hows this for mismatched??

I owned this car for a weekend. Bought it for $500 That's my '88 5.0 in front of it. It was a wiring nightmare. It was originally a white 1984GT that someone put a 1990 body and interior into yet hacked the wiring. It would have run with some TLC...but i did this

Who cares what your car looks like if it runs 11's?

Heres mine, sorry no mismatched body panels or rust, just saggy stock parts, still had the air silencer when i got it

First got it:

More normal ride height for DD duty behind the 'vert:

For some reason I don't have any stand alone pics of the fox.

Hell mine might never be anything but less than perfect! It's come a loooong way though.

Here's back when it had half way decent paint, but it was a Maaco paint job and sucked ass so when i did the nose swap i just put it in primer.

Here's the engine the day i got it

Here's the engine cleaned up a little

Here's a day or two after i did the nose swap

Here you can see how bad the paint was and the doors were already on their way out when i got the car

Here's a pic of the car i got the nose off of. This was a 99.99999% rust free '79 Ghia 4 cylinder T top car originally and was built into an '82 GT clone. It was basically a shell. I tried to GIVE this car away and nobody would come and get it from my buddy's house....it's now sitting in a junkyard

Here's the engine with a new intake and carb and valve covers (which are still on it)

Here's one of my all time favorite shots of my car...i just wish it had better wheels on it at the time. It was a fall day and the sun had just gone down...it couldn't have been much better

And then it had the Welds on it..

And a shot out in the country

Then the big white suck came down from the heavens and buried my poor little coupe

Now it's got Ponys on it and needs resprayed pretty bad. Soon to come will be a 5 lug swap and some new wheels, the doors and hopefully paint.

The End

Damn, beat me to it. I was gonna post pics of the Capri halfway through the paintjob...

I should just snap a pic of my notch as-is tomorrow morning. It's kinda sorry-lookin' right now with the amount of filth covering it inside and out, and I've been putting off respraying the ponies for too long - they don't look awful right now (especially with dirt covering everything), it just looks like brake dust caked up on 'em. I've got a can o' Duplicolor with their name on 'em...
