What a previous owner did to the rear seat area of my coupe qualifies it for sure. He cut the metal out of the pacakage tray to fit a sound system I believe. I've put a steel bulkhead in to cover it. Once I got it in the way I want (with minimal rattles) I'm overing it in dynamat and carpet.

Well, here is the saga of my 89 GT.

This is the car the day I bought it...
View attachment 371770

Then I began to disassemble it for paint and AOD to T5 swap...
View attachment 371772
View attachment 371774

Then i took it apart some more...but money started to get a little too tight...and so this is pretty much what it looks like now...
View attachment 371776

I did however manage to have a couple pieces painted...front & rear bumper covers, and all the ground effects...
View attachment 371777
View attachment 371778

In the end I am shooting for something like this...just minus the black stripe in the molding, and I am not sure if I want to keep the black wheels...

I still got alot of work to do to it, still gotta line the hood up and stuff, gonna put a saleen wing on it, LX taillights, maybe a Cobra rear bumper, new convertible top, changing interior and convertible top to black. And then one day, finally get it painted.

ooo can I play too?

My current engine bay

What I had before (traded the white coupe for the current hatchback).

But yesterday I took the headers off, alternator bracket, power steering etc... to paint the block black, I cleaned up the valve covers and installed the proper OEM A/C delete braket. Looks better, still have some things to do...

Last August:

April:

June:

Right now the motor work (heads and cam) is just about done and so is the bodywork. It just needs a few things and a paint job and its all ready to go.
I havent really had a chance to take any pics lately.
The fenders are now on and all the dents and rust spots have been repaired.
It should be painted and done in 2-3 weeks.

Well at the time I had a 351 built up to put IN that car, I only had a 4 banger T5 and everyone told me it wouldn't hold up the 351's torque (had 69 or 70 heads on it). I sold the motor for profit and built a little 302 instead. I didn't have enough cash at the time for a better 5 speed or even to get a C4 built. That entire black Mustang cost me maybe $3000 all said and done (budget stang)... I could take off in 5th gear if I wanted to and it would burn rubber in 1-2-3 AND 4th gear. (geared 3:73 + 4 banger T5 = funny but didn't burn so much rubber once I put the 275's on there). Motor had airgap intake, ported E7's, .500 lift cam (like an E303), straight pipes from front to back (no mufflers, just gutted catted H-pipe), and lots of weight reduction (no power steering, insulation, radio, etc...)...

lol no worries... I kind of miss that car. It was fun to drive in town with the 4 banger springs and removed front sway bar (or tortion bar, whatever it's called) it felt like it was lifting in the air everytime I gave it some gas Not so fun on the highway at high speeds though.

Peeling clear coat and HALF of a 5-lug swap Oh, and it's not a 5.0, either
