Does anyone know of any side exhaust kits for the car? Thinking about it, it sounds BA in my head but I wanna know if anyone has done this (pictures are great) and who they used, power increases, new side skirts, etc. You all have been a big help so far with my car. Still working on that CAI and the exhaust is something I want to do in addition.

I have the Cervini's C-500 kit.

You can see pictures at my cardomain website:
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2052289

Here's a video I did of it when I first got my off-road pipe. The tune was wrong at the time though, so it doesn't sound just right. I'll probably switch to high-flow cats next year. Completely straight through is a little unrefined sounding.

The paint and install of the stripes and body kit was $2500. I installed the exhaust.

So Darkfire, did you use the Cervini exhaust (magnaflow??)? It's about the only side exhaust system I'm coming across when searching the net. Maybe I need to dig a lil deeper.... any more insight?

Someone said this already but I'll reitterate, the cervini side exhaust can be used with numerous other parts.

You don't have to use their magnaflow mufflers. If you check out the site or even call them, they will let you know that you can use a variety of x-pipes, shorty headers, long tube headers, and switch out the mufflers for sound likes, all basically bolt on with little to no effort. They now have a play clip of a done c-500 on their site. You may be distracted by the procharger pop off, I know I was.

But my question is, is the Cervini kit the ONLY side exhaust kit out there?

blowbyracing.com also has one. alot of people on here refuse to do business with them. I've bought a few parts from them with no problem. If you don't want to get side skirts, I would definitely go with Cervini's. If you look at my cardomain page, I have plenty of pics of the side pipes without skirts and they look great. The BBR tips won't look right at all without a skirt.

To answer your question NO Cervini's is not the only one but from all the research I did it is the best one.

I don't get this, Cervini's comes with the skirts and an add on for the rear bumper to eliminate the exhaust cuts.

Everyones kit is different so you end up having to get their exhaust and side skirts or spend a lot of custom work done.

My car is here:

Ok.... I guess I should elaborate. While it does come with the side skirts, I can see why someone may not want them. With a simple switch to a v-6 bumper, you could go skirtless and still look good. If you put on the back bumper piece, you'd have to have the skirts, and front bumper for everything to flow well. But, you could just get a v-6 rear bumper and not put the skirts on and not have to change the front. But yes, Cervini's is definitely the best kit.

Yea that would work, honestly I think it would look kinda funny though

Oh yea Bash is supposed to have their GTR sides out soon. I have never had any dealings with them so I don't know quality but they would be different.

See I'm just debating... I like the idea of the side exhaust, but as you can see from my picture, I've already put some money into the rear bumper, the stripes. Not a huge deal but then I have to get them redone down there as well as paint. Might there be any fill-in kits for the cutouts, or maybe a body shop would fill them in? I'm assuming no or it would require painting anyways.

Also what does the Cervini exhaust kit cost? I looked at the website and I can't seem to get it to where it's just the exhaust. If it costs too much I'm not gonna do it regardless and just get something else. What would be the recommendations there?

I would say if you don't want go get the side skirts, which it sounds like you don't, take the pictures to an exhaust shop and have them fabricate something. You'll pay a lot less to do that and have a v6 bumper painted, if you're not going to get the whole kit. I would say $400-$550 for the exhaust to be fabricated, and probably $300 to have the stripes painted on a v6 bumper, and probably $150 for a v6 bumper. So that would be less than a grand.

I saw online somewhere this past weekend (i'll find it and link to it) a set of inserts that fill in the exhaust cuts in the factory gt bumper.

Darkfire,
I ordered my cervinis side exhaust kit, but I have a question. I also will be putting on 20" saleen wheels. will I be able to lower the car about 1 1/8" and still have good clearance?
