I know some people have recently said they have done one or the other. Does it really make a difference?

Also I was thinking about indexing the other day and I was thinking about something that I think I may have come up with but others may have already done which I like to call "backwards indexing"... If blown, does it make sense to index for the oppposite (backwards) goal as you would normally index for? IE, try to BLOCK with the electrode to prevent spark blowout instead of trying to UNBLOCK the spark from behind the electrode?

Anyway, I will check back on the thread, I need to go return some videos...

I index my sparkplugs, does it help? Im sure it does but is it a measurable HP gain? that I can't answer as I've never done a back to back compare. I dont use the indexing washers either, royal pita doing it that way. last set I indexed, I bought 3 boxxes of 8 and just screwed them in till I found 8 that indexed-up wthout the use of washers. I do have an indexing tool but find its just about as fast doing it in the car vs using the indexing tool.

I index the plugs on the two race bikes as well as the Camaro [current drag car]but don't bother doing it on the Stang or the g/f's LS-1. Any gain would be terribly slight. We have done testing at the track, doing back to back runs [3 runs with, 3 without], with no noticable gains, but we never tried it on the dyno.
