I installed 2 9004 bulbs for my car on 7/13/2003, and the left side bulb (driving beam) burnt out today. Thats over 14 months, is this a good life for a Silverstar 9004?

These things are 'spensive!:nonono:

Life chart...

I found the life chart here, I never knew they had the worst life span.

But to have a whiter light I guess I have to pay the price.

The duller the light the longer the life, and the cheaper the cost...

Wish I had the cash and time for a proper 4100K HID retrofit. :nice:

Which is Sylvania. Hella seems cool, though.

I have a regular Sylvania bulb in the passenger side and it had lasted at least two years. I expect it to last longer and at $9.95 a bulb, I'm doing ok so far.

I find that the whiter the light, the harder it is to see at night, especially on the brushy mountain roads up here. I drive a '91 Civic to save gas and it has super white high wattage lights and they are actually worse than my 'stang with stock equivalents.

IMO they suck a$$, I had one in my car explode, my pass headlight is full of the bluish glass from where it exploded, I wore gloves when installing them so I know the bulb itself wasnt touched at all, thankfully advance auto was open, I went back to the regular bulbs, I can see better at night with them anyways
