I just got a 2000GT Mustang 5 speed with only 24k miles on it WOOT!!! Anyway I had a 5.0 but she exploded on a wall at 60 miles per hour when I was drunk and let my sober friend drive :bang: (Wierd how that works eh?)

2 Questions!

Anyway what is a good shift range for normal driving from 1st to 2nd and on. I normally shift around 2k should I hold off till 2.5 or more?

Second! I put Flow 40s on (no delta) and the car is loud but some mustangs I hear have a echo sound to there car. Mines loud but not as echoed. How is that done? H-pipe with no cats?

Thanks all!

I usually shift around 2k as well.. people tell me to open her up a bit and shift at 3k or so.. The lower rpm, the more mileage you get I assume..

as for the exhaust tone.. just play around with it until to find the one you like..

www.mustangexhaust.com have TONS of sound clips for many many exhaust combo.. check it out :) have fun modding the stang.

h-pipe with no cats sound awesome you will love it! I have original 40 series flowmasters with a off road h-pipe made by mac I think it was $120 . GET ONE!
GO WITH A H-PIPE! It is just a bolt on no welds needed. save your stock h pipe just in case you need to put it back on.

i shift at 3000RPM usualy.
And i think what your discribing as far as mid-pipe goes, to me sound like prochamber. mine deffinatlry has sort of echoing to it at low rpm, and brip the gas bit

How can I tell what series flowmasters I have??? I bought my car used and it came on it.

if you get a prochamber you wont be disappointed :D it's been on 2 of the 3 gt's i've owned, & i don't think i can own another mustang without one, they are addicting. i have a video clip of my car if you want to hear what it sounds like. look in my sid. to see my setup. my buddies were riding in another stang along side me & let me do a little run on video  it's beautiful :D just I.M. me on aim if you want it, screenname -stangman2v

I shift @ 2,000.

3,000 is moving smartly im my car.

If you shift into 2nd at 3000 rpm, you'll only be going 18 mph. Not exactly "smartly". 2nd to 3rd at 3000 rpm is only 30 mph. Still not exactly "smartly". 3rd to 4th at 3k rpms is 46.5 mph. WOW! Now you're MOVIN' SMARTLY!!!!!
