simple question: what should i put on threads

oil pressure sensor broke in half, made a nice smoke show down the freeway. What should i put on the threads of the new one, silicone, teflon tape, loktite, ???

ARP thread sealant would probably be best, but I used Permatex Blue on mine and no leaks so far. Probably going to be a PITA if I ever need to pull it out though.

I like the ARP idea Matt has. I used a dab of Permatex high temp teflon paste a few threads up on my oil fittings when I installed the Vortech and no leaks with it.

Only if it's from a camel.



Very good thoughts above. I generally use teflon. The reason for the post is that I would not use threadlock.

Permatex blue should be able to be removed. I suppose I'll find out eventually...

Loctite makes great pipe fitting paste in a chapstick style tube.

Boy that and your chapstick are two things you don't want to get confused. Might work good for guys with nagging wives though.
