how many people have a sirius or xm antenna on their car? I am racking my brain trying to come up with a place to put it that it wont look like complete ass.

Mine is on the Trunk lid. But its a magnet mount so I can stick it to the inside when I don't want it to show.

That is the only reason I don't have satellite radio.....I can't think of a good place to put the antenna. Now if you could get one that looked like the BMW shark fin type antenna, I'd have no problem mounting on the roof. hehe.

gonna try putting it on the dash. I am told it will get signal through the glass. then it wont be outside and I wont have to run wires.

I have found that it only gets good reception when its stuck to the car, since its a magnet it uses the car as an antenna as well. I have mine on my LX all the way at the back of my roof in the center. It doesn't look too bad.

A sirius antenna does use the car as an antenna. If you dont want to mount it outside the vehicle you can mount it behind the rear view mirror. I made a bracket out of ABS plastic so it would be the antenna would have a flat surface to mount on. The reception in this location is excellent. I have it on more than one vehicle of mine-I also have my nav antenna mounted here.

if you have a sun roof you could mount it near there, since it looks like your car has a saleen wing doesnt look like you could do the trunk lid

yeah, got the saleen spoiler so thats out. looks like I have several options to try and mount it inside. I do have a sunroof, but I am thinking that If I have to do an outside location I am going to run it at the top of the back glass. thats probably the most unobtrusive place that wont require a masters degree in engineering like under the cowl panel would.

that would work too, or take off your factory antenna and mount it over the hole there, making it look like you did the LRS antenna delete

yeah, I dunno. just looks ghetto. if you are going to delete the antenna weld or epoxy a metal patch and just have the fender painted, I cant stand half assed fixes.

Mine is mounted under the cowl right in front of the windsheild, never had reception issues, and completely invisible.

IIRC, there is an opening to the interior of the car, on the extreme left, or extreme right. Basically, its the fresh air intake for the HVAC system, i was able to sneak the wire in that way.

Be ready to become a contorsionist though, took me a while to get it in there.
