size cowl needed to clear typhoon intake...

well I was about to order my Cowl hood finally, and my buddy told me that I need a 3inch cowl to clear the typhoon intake....


is this true? I had my heartset on a 2.5 but a 3 would be fine...

What size spacer are you using? If you're not using one it should clear the stock hood. Up to a 1" spacer and you could get by with a 1.5" cowl...

the guy b4 me had some hood rash because he didnt have enough clearance...

so I hope a 2.5 cowl can clear it

As far as I know the typhoon is pretty much a photocopy of a performer rpm, which is the same height as a performer.. My performer fits under my stock hood no problem, with a 3/8" spacer.

without a spacer it will easily clear a 2.5" cowl hood.. i have a 1" spacer on mine and i still have plenty of room on my 2.5" cobra R hood.. it may even clear the stock hood with no spacer, but dont take my work for it on that

thats what I always thought?
