size of 65/66 deck lid compared to 67/68

I have a 66 coupe that I put 67 outer wheel wells and mini tubbed. I was not able to get the quarters back in like they came out, due to the stretching for the 67 outers. So my deck lid is about 1 inch to narrow. My plan was to use a fiberglass deck lid anyways, and make it fit. I ordered one from VFN, and got a 67 one instead. It is oversized by quite a bit, to wide. As anyone who has done fiberglass work knows, it is much easier to take away than add too. I think I can make the 67 deck lid fit. My car is so far from appearing stock at this point I really don't care if it is not the correct year deck lid and looks different. I emailed VFN tonight to let them know about the problem. I am thinking they are going to make me send the other one back. I am worried that the 64-66 one will be to small, and the 67/68 one will be easier to fit in the long run. So to my question, is a 67/68 "stock" deck lid larger than a 64-66? Or are they the same width and should I expect the 64-66 to be as oversized and exchange them?

Using a pin on lid no hinges, so mounting will be easy just not sure if a 65 will be wide enough.

Also currently have a 13.5 wide tire probably can fit 14.5

Couple of the latest pics. Like I said there was a ton involved. I got most of my suspension supplies from Alex at Money Maker. Moved the leafs in with some brackets up front and fabbed some for the rear (wish I would have gotten the crites brackets for the rear, mine look real similar and weren't much cheaper to make). Mini tubbed it and beat the notch out if the front side of the drivers side inside tub. When I mini tubbed it I moved the inside of the tubs as far as possible and as high as possible (sort of notched the frame a bit). Had to cut the seat frame a little bit and make some changes to it, but got upholstery over it and it looks good. With the outers from the 67 I had to stretch the quarters some, which led to other problems (like the trunk). I also had to get rid of the seam where the quarter connects to the rocker (wanted to anyways). My problems were partially due to this was the 1st time I've ever welded, done any body work, fabbed anything, etc. Also, I used all repo sheet metal (quarters, trunk floor, rear deck lid support, rear valance, etc. From the rear quarters back is all repo. I've got a ton more pics but never really organized them, always planned to but to busy. If you are serious about doing it pm me with your phone number and a good time to call and we can talk about it. I would do it again, but it would be much easier. I got what I wanted out of the car, and learned a ton. Most people probably wouldn't have wanted to go through all the trouble, but I didn't want to wish I would have done it after I finished. I should be painting soon and will post more pics.

As far as the rear edge my plan was to have it dip down below. I am sending it back to VFN next week. They have been very helpful fixing the situation, so should have no issues when I get the one for my car.
