slave cylinder

im am looking at buying this coupe....its dirt cheap and its was just painted.

it has a t-5 and he says that the slave cylinder may need replaced?

my question to you is wtf is a slave cylinder and how hard will it be to put in a new one? will the trans have to be pulled out of the car to do this..

it is a hydraulic cylinder that is attached to your tranny. it is what moves your linkage when you push in the clutch pedal. shouldnt be too hard to replace.

did you finally talk your dad into buying a v8 for you??

Hydraulic clutch slave cylinder on a Fox?

I know it's been tried and fail on lots of occations. I'd considered trying it myself a time or two but have not seen a success story yet.

You are correct. They did not 'come' on Foxes.

The only thing I've seen a slave cylinder on was a Toyota Pick up. I haven't seen a car with one.

wow, never knew they werent hydraulic. never touched a tranny on a fox. I just saw slave and t5 and pout 2+2 together. I wonder what slave cylinder he is talking about then?

Maby he means something else, because foxes didn't have hydrolic clutchs.

Either the car had a hydraulic clutch actuator installed on it (it's been done before) or he's talking about the brake slave cylinder for the rear drum brakes.

No hydraulic clutches on Mustangs, although I have looked into doing this on mine.

It can be done using aftermarket slave cylinders for the T-5

They both claim to work with a 3/4" Master cylinder, which the T-bird hydralic setup is. I have not confirmed that a turbo coupe pedal assembly with hydraulic master cylinder will work in a Mustang (it should since they are both Fox chassis) but if it does, there is your hydraulic clutch.

its an 88( dont know if that makes a difference. and yeah he says that when you push the clutch down you hear a slight noise. he thinks is the slave cylinder. and no its not a V8

it was just painted...and no mater what you guys say...i love the way he did the 2 tone and the colors he did.

and all that need done is the new trim piece put on. and then all that needs done is a new headliner.(its red.)

the car was red on red. now it has a black and grey interior

Ive always wanted a coupe....and the 5 speed is a plus...the 2.3L is not so much a plus but i think i will be happy with it because when i go to convert to a v8 it will be a little easier.

Why did he leave the door molding black?

A noise when you push the clutch pedal down could either be the cable itself, or the Throw-out-bearing or pressure plate.

For the latter two, the trans needs to come down

its been painted to match the car. he had to track down a new trim piece and that pic was tooken before it was painted and put on.

dont waste your money. save it for a v8 notch. I know it looks nice, but come on, then you wil have two cars that you cant drive and both of them will be slower than turds.
