My son just called and said he had found brake fluid on the drivers side carpeting. I suggested that he look under the dash for the leak. See this is what happens when you work midshift and don't get any sleep for 36 hours. Hopefully he'll use his brains and get some sleep before calling me again

I totally know what thats like.

Interesting factiod about Codemonkey: I only sleep 3-4 hours per night. Sometimes less. Every two weeks or so I sleep a full 8-10 hours, when I feel weary and dumb.

I work a lot of hours at my job, and run a (time consuming) business at home, and have a significant other, and a daughter. So put that all together, and 8 hours of sleep doesnt factor in well. So my day usually goes from 5-6am in the morning to 1-3am at night.

Believe it or not, you can train your body to do this. I wouldnt advise it as a healthy option, but it can be done, with the help of caffiene and sugar of course. A 1 hour nap during the day doesn't hurt. I used to LOVE my sleep before I conditioned myself to do this. But, after a couple weeks of it, my brain really does get tired, and I feel stupid, and make a lot of poor mistakes. But it can be done, I've been doing it about 2 years now, and don't plan on changing it anytime soon.

i get 5hrs if lucky, 4hrs avrg. pop 2pills of caffiene containing 250mg each=2cups each. thus 4cups to get me up and not to fall asleep again while driving to work. sucks!

I've been doing this a lot recently. Pulled a 30 hour day the other day, working on an independent contract at home. Fortunately it's only a month long gig, any longer and I'd surely die.

It's a blast sipping coffee at 3am, and watching the sun rise soon after. But you gotta do what you gotta do.

:/ If I don't get atleast 8 hours every night, I'm dead. Of course, that'll change since school gets out next Thursday. In bed by 10, and up at 6.

Just wait till you get to college. Sleep will be a distant memory.

Did a job in Boise Idaho last week and into Satuday and Sunday with my 360 ton crane. Worked a 27 hour stretch but was up and awake for more than 31 hours. Nothing like driving 168,000 lbs. down the road at 2:00 a.m. and thinking you saw Bigfoot crossing I-84 going West bound.
