Slight oil leak?

I have had a slight oil leak for awhile, but its starting to get a little worse. It only leaks a few drops when i startup for the first time. I only use my car on the weekends, and it doesnt leak after initial startup, or when it turn it off. IT only leaks on intital startup... Any ideas as to what might be the culprit? thanks.

I doubt that it only leaks for the 5 minutes that it takes to hit full temp.

Where is the leak?
Rear main?
Rear Upper intake?
Oil pan gasket?
Valve cover?

Well, I cant really see where its leakign from, which is why i posted. And, the only time i see any oil, is the initial startup . NOt after i park, or even after i restart it? Ill give it another look but i couldnt see a definita place where it was leaking.. thanks for the advice though.

Where do you see the oil when it is leaking?
Under the car? I may be able to offer advice as to what could be leaking in that area.

Something that comes to mind is the oil filter. A few years back a friend of mine changed filters on his 302. When he pulled the old filter the seal stayed stuck to the block. Since he couldn't see the filter flange from under the car he installed the new filter on top of the old seal. It leaked for a few days then completely blew out!

May not be the cause of your problems.

I thought it was the oil filter, but i just recently changed oil and filter, and everything was fine. And yes the oil leaks to the ground. I want to say center, maybe slighty to the left, but im not positive... Thanks again.

I would clean the engine bay and then start it up and let it do its dribble thing. Then put it on jack stands (with the car off) and take a look. SInce things were clean, you should see a snail trail of oil from the source.

Definitely taking hissins advice cuz it could be from a number of sources. Low oil sensor, oil pan gasket, oil filter, off the tranny bellhousing if you have a blown rear intake gasket just to name a few.
