looking for either a little bike or a vespa or something of that nature...I would like it to be able to go maybe 60 mph or so at least and I am looking for the cheapest most reliable and best gas mileage possible...what should I get?? I will be using it to tool around town in and I don't mind that I will have to ride it in the rain...just don't wanna keep driving the stang EVERYday

I see too many bikes and crap at the dealer auctions that have been smashed up to smitherines. And I've lost a couple aquaitences via that route. Hate to rain on your parade but I'd say get a festiva or something safer. BTW they have a rear drive svt contour swap for the festivas... :D

Dude, don't get a Vespa or scooter. It doesn't cost nearly that much to look like a homo, if that's the look you're going for.

Seriously, if you're looking for a bike (as I have been for the past several months), look for a small cruiser or sport bike. Something in the 500 cc range would have enough power to not be passed on the roads (i.e. keep up with traffic), but still be sluggish enough to keep a beginner rider safe. Depending on how you drive, 80 mpg isn't unthinkable (I got about 70 on my Harley when I had it).

Back to cycletrader.com to look for a used R6...

I live near an upscale area and there are a lot of Vespa's out during the weekends. They don't look that bad and I rode one and it's a nice ride. I agree it doesn't look to manly but it depends on what area you live in. My friend's dad's Vespa is black and it's pretty quiet. He put some Vespa high performance parts, I'm not sure how much faster it is with those. But you can get to 60 pretty quick. I think he uses the same tank of gas for almost the entire summer. It's a 49 cc motor so that's probably why.

They're really popular in Europe but for some reason if a man drives one in the USA people think it's gay. Instead the guys here like to have a loud, chromed out, and flashy bike to make up for the small size of their manhood.
