I've got it on both my 93 and my wife's 96 Cobra. The 96 has stock manifolds and h-pipe. It is mild at idle, hardly louder than the Flowmaster 40's it replaced on the freeway but sounds just plain badass under accelleration. We've had nothing but positive reaction to it from other Mustang owners and even complete strangers out driving around.

On my 93 I have headers, Bassani catted X and the SLP. Since I did the H/C/I this thing is LOUD!!! Much louder than before. Before, it sounded very much like a hot 289 Hi-Performance K-code car from the mid-sixties. Very muscle car-ish. Now, it just sounds plain viscious and is significantly louder than Flowmasters under all conditions.

The quality of SLP products is better than any product I have ever installed on one of my cars. The fit and finish are first rate and it is well worth the cost. If you want an exhaust system with a really aggressive sound, go for it, but it's not for the faint of heart.

I almost put slp's on my 03 cobra I had, but if I remember correctly it had to many connectors, whitch probably would of been good for the ease of installing the system. But you could see all the clamps real easy when looking behind the cobra imo it was a eye sore.So I went bassani race x-pipe with borla stingers and it was nascar sounding, very wicked, then tryed bassani catback and it was a little more tame

I don't own a 5.0 so i really don't belong here but i just wanted to say that SLP is a really great brand. Its very mild at idle but once you step on it its unbelievable how good it sounds. Plus the clamps allow you to switch out the resonators (SLP has 3 different ones) so if you don't like the LM1 then you can try the LM2s or Powerflows.

Um...... They're stainless steel band clamp over stainless steel pipe. You can rotate the tightening bolt to the top of the pipe so that you have to be under the car to even know it's there. I don't understand your reasoning here.

I had the slp stainless x pipe on my 98 and the fit and finish was great! untill a pothole takes out one of your cats... no problem its a 3 piece pipe! right? I could never get the thing to seal after that exaust leaks drive me nuts... so stay away from a 3 piece midpipe unless you like them

I'm not trying to knock your exhaust bro just giving my opinion, I know you can re-adjust the clamps so there not as visible but I would know there their and would of still been able to see them. A lot of people luv the slp and it is a nice sounding system

Yeah, I have been planning on doing the 3" SLP kit on the stang. I prefer angle cut tips on mustangs, but that is just me.
