Im pretty sure the LM2s are mufflers, not resonators as mentioned above.

I have the poweflo mufflers. I like them alot, i am considering the LM2 just for a bit louder sound but the powerflos do sound really good. Sorry i cant compare them to another set.

well, if you wanna be technical, slp considers the lm1's "shotgun style resonators", and the LM2's "bullet style race mufflers", and the poweflo's are "low-restriction mufflers". so i guess you're right. the 1's and 2's look identical, but whereas the 1's are straight through hollow, the 2's have a ceramic wrapped core to reduce high frequency noise and in car resonance. either way, they're still pretty damn loud.

while we're on this topic, ive got a question. i have slp catted x w/lm1. i love how it scares the **** out of people, but i have to admit the rasp is finally getting to me. its not that bad, i just want to replace some of the rasp with a slightly deeper tone. so, should i just go with the LM2's? or, should i try to get my hands on some packs, have them welded in, and turn my loudmouth into a bastard child of the loudest exhaust products out there? opinions?

Isn't the SLP modular, so you don't have to weld in anything and ruin it?

sure is, as long as you use their exhaust products. they use a slip-fit design with band clamps. i'm assuming the packs use a different method of connecting to the pipes, so i just figured i'd have to weld them in to fit slp's piping. i'll prob. end up getting LM2 mufflers, then taking my cats out and throwing in the race pipes if i want it louder. just curious what y'all thought.

an slp x-pipe with packs does poke at my curiosity though. arent the packs slightly "quieter" than the LM1?, and probable slightly louder than the LM2, which is kinda what im looking for. oh well, im broke anyway, its gonne be a while before i get to experiment

From what I have listened to I think some of the rasp sound is from the X-pipe, H-pipes to me does not sound near as raspy.

you're right. H=rumble, X=rasp, but i've heard other stangs running o/r x's with aftermarket cat-backs that arent near as raspy as mine, and im running cats. i really think its because of the straight through "shotgun" design if the LM1 resonator. i think either the LM2 or packs will solve this problem for me.

hey man, you and i both know when it comes to exhaust, its all opinion. i never said i didnt like my set-up. hell i love it. i just want to fine tune it a little. maybe your car's magical or has a secret anti-rasp device or something i just know what my car sounds like, and i know what i want it to sound like. and right now those two are pretty close, but not quite there. im not trying to make a big stink about it, but bottom line is: my car is a little raspy. thats all

I'm not a fan of the SLP/Magnapack sound. Your Blower sounds killer.

I love the sound of the V1 as well, you DEFINITELY know it is there at idle. The rims are 17x9 and 17x10.5 by the way for the dude asking.
