Alright well I finally got my car working. Only problem now is that the battery light comes on when I give it some gas. I tested the battery and it was at 12.4. Any suggestions? I'm going to get my alternator tested later today.

I have had the same problem for a year now. The light will come and go. Everything has been tested with no problems. It does it more in the winter time & not as much in the summer.

You should be seeing 14+ volts at the battery with the engine running. 12.4 volts is basically just the battery. I have seen alternators with only 5 of the 6 diodes working that give just enough charge to put the light out but it will flicker at times.

Throw the voltmeter across the battery terminals with the engine running - you should see 14+ volts. Anything less than 13 is probably no good.

i checked the battery and it was good. The alternator wasn't able to be tested because it didn't fit right on the machine at autozone. Which means I'm going to have to end up buying an alternator.

What should the cranking amps on the battery be? I checked my battery and it was 500. Shouldn't this be much much higher? Any suggestions?

I was also thinking that the car might not be properly grounded. Could I just not have grounded it correctly?

I did take the entire engine apart along with the tranny.

Whats a good grounding kit?

It wouldn't start if it wasn't grounded right...
