i mentioned this is in my other thread, but does anyone know where to get a idler pulley 3" or less in diameter? stock diameter is about 3.75". see my other thread if you're wondering why i'm asking.

Hey Greg

I took a look at your other thread.

I don't seem to have the same prob.

I'm using Mac ud's myself and when I put them on I used the same belt with no probs.

I replaced the belt a while back and ordered a new one for a 95GT 5.0 and everything was ok.

I think I've got the belt package thing in the trunk if you need a part # but it is just a standard belt I believe.

I guess I don't understand why your belt seems to be too long?

grady,

when i originally put in the underdrive pulleys, i was able to use the same belt. since then, i've taken out the smog equipment, including the smog pump pulley. that's why i'm having this problem. i take it you are still turning the pulley for the smog. my belt is routed like this:

I now see the prob.

Yes, I run all emissions stuff cause I just did not won't the probs of passing inspections in the area where I live.

I know many of the guys on these forums have jerked their smog stuff and it would seem like someone would post a solution.

Hows the car doing these days?

OT:
it runs pretty well at open throttle. it doesn't really care to idle when it's hot, and the i've got some hanging rpm issues that have developed recently. i need to borrow a multimeter from someone and check out my tps voltage and, more importantly, get her down to the dyno!
