SMOG STUFF ON BACK OF THE HEAD?

WHAT DO YOU GUYS RECCOMEND DOING WITH THE SMOG STUFF ON BACK OF THE HEAD WHEN DOING A SMOG DELETE?

The two things that go into the back of the head can be flipped around and bolted in backwards, so that they cover up the hole in the head.

Or you can pick up the Trick Flow pieces that screw into the head blocking that passage.

Any HP gains from getting rid of this stuff, or is it just for cleaning up the engine bay?

You'll see a little hp gain when you ditch the cats.

As far as the EGR stuff, I believe its all switched off at WOT, so exhaust gases aren't being introduced into the intake.

Do what they said^ or what I did was just get some bolts (9/16" ?? MAYBE, don't count on it) and then put washers on em, clean out the carbon in those holes and then screw em in.

I just left the stuff hooked up to the heads and took out the rest of the smog stuff and i used a 3/4 in cap to cat the tube going to the heads

i used 2 short length 9/16 bolts with some washers that you can pick up at your local hardware store.

I agree, thats a better idea than giving Trick Flow your money. Many of us have given them enough money already.

The only issue is cleaning the carbon out of those holes.

Put the trickflow plugs in yesterday, you will need to get the carbon out of the threads use a tap, that is what we did..

it took me forever to get the bolts in. i threaded them a bit then took them out and cleaned the bolts, then threaded them a bit more and cleaned the bolts again. it took me about an hour to get both bolts in flush.

I've hear you could put spark plugs in the back of your heads, just break off what is not needed?

My trickflow heads have 5/8-11 or 10 on the back of the head...
